Needed: More Reliable Bioeffects Studies at “High Band” 5G Frequencies

چکیده
One major source of controversy related to possible health effects radiofrequency radiation (RFR) is the large number reported statistically significant exposure, over entire RF part spectrum and a wide range exposure levels, even as agencies do not find clear evidence for hazards at levels within current IEEE ICNIRP limits. This Perspective considers 31 studies genetic damage produced by RFR frequencies above 6 GHz, including millimeter-wave (mm-wave) frequencies. Collectively, papers report many damage, below However, application five risk bias (RoB) criteria other considerations suggest that in cases are vulnerable false discovery (nonreplicable results). The authors call improvements study design, analysis reporting future bioeffects research provide more reliable information regulatory decision makers. companion another Mattsson et al. elsewhere this volume (Mattsson al., 2021) 1 .

متن کاملOn the 5G Wireless Communications at the Low Terahertz Band
Initiation of fourth generation (4G) mobile telecommunication system rollouts fires the starting pistol for beyond 4G research activities. Whereas technologies enhancing spectral efficiency have traditionally been the solution to data rate and network capacity increase demands, due to the already advanced techniques, returns of the even more complicated algorithms hardly worth the complexity in...
متن کاملUltra-Reliable and Low-Latency 5G Communication
Machine-to-machine communication, M2M, will make up a large portion of the new types of services and use cases that the fifth generation (5G) systems will address. On the one hand, 5G will connect a large number of low-cost and low-energy devices in the context of the Internet of things; on the other hand it will enable critical machine type communication use cases, such as smart factory, autom...
متن کاملAtmospheric and Fog Effects on Ultra-Wide Band Radar Operating at Extremely High Frequencies
The wide band at extremely high frequencies (EHF) above 30 GHz is applicable for high resolution directive radars, resolving the lack of free frequency bands within the lower part of the electromagnetic spectrum. Utilization of ultra-wideband signals in this EHF band is of interest, since it covers a relatively large spectrum, which is free of users, resulting in better resolution in both the l...
متن کاملAn equivalent roughness model for seabed backscattering at very high frequencies using a band-matrix approach.
This work concerns modeling of very high frequency (>100 kHz) sonar images obtained from a sandy seabed. The seabed is divided into a discrete number of ID height profiles. For each height profile the backscattered pressure is computed by an integral equation method for interface scattering between two homogeneous media as formulated by Chan [IEEE Trans. Antennas Propag. 46, 142-149 (1998)]. Ho...
